A Day at the Farmer's Market

Farmer's markets can be a great activity to do with your family. Local farmer's always bring out their choice products, and there are other types of fun that your little ones can get into. There are so many farmer's markets in and around the Inland Empire. If you like organic foods this is the place to go, several farmers use no pesticides, and you can talk to them about their growing methods.

Chic and affordable Consignment Sales

I have two kids whom are always in need of new clothes or shoes. It seems like they outgrow them so fast. I found a couple of awesome consignment sales that will make your pocketbook happy. Savvy chic kids consignment sale is a very nice one, done in good taste. They have everything you could imagine, from strollers, comforters, clothes, shoes, hats, toys. Anything a new mom would need in her arsenal. They always have a half price sale on the last day of the event. I always love that day!

National Orange Show Festival

It's time for the annual fair in San Bernardino County at the National Orange Show. It will be here May 26-30 through memorial day weekend. Get your grub on, listen to some cultural music, enjoy the thrill of a wide assortment of rides and other attractions.  I really enjoy their petting zoo and displays. Admission is 5 for adults, and children under 10 are FREE!  Unlimited ride wristbands are only 15 dollars. What a fun day trip for you and your family.

Ballet Anyone?

Interested in getting you little one started in ballet? Not sure where to start? When my daughter turned three I knew she was ready when she would tiptoe and dance across the room! All kids mature at different levels, and if you feel that your child is ready, why not try. I highly recommend dance studios over community centers because in my experience they were more inclined to focus on technique and they had several performances in which my little star could shine. A really good dance studio in the Inland Empire is the Carole Lynne Dance studio. They are AMAZING with kids, and have been established since 1963!

Bowling alleys, and fun for the little ones and big ones.

Not only moms, but entire families! I rediscovered bowling because of my husband. You don't have to go broke taking your group bowling. One of the places that I really like is Del Rosa Lanes in San Bernardino. They have amazing specials, and not only on bowling, on food too. They have dollar days where you can bowl for a dollar and get certain food items like pizza for only a dollar too. Del Rosa has a whole bunch of good deals for the savvy family. You can find out more information on their website.  ----> http://delrosalanes.us/
I also really enjoy going to Brunswick Foothill Lanes in Fontana. They have specials also, and if you join one of their bowling leagues, you can have a lot of fun with the family. I would go there on a Sunday in the morning because it is not as crowded. Call ahead and plan. They are very nice and friendly here! For the parents, they have drink specials, the bartender is awesome and she makes the best shots!

Where do we go from here?

If you live in the Inland Empire you have probably realized that the types of activities that are available are limited, especially if you are on a budget.  I grew up in Los Angeles, and always had the opportunity to go to the Free Aquarium in Cabrillo Beach, or the California Science Center. Taken for granted, it wasn't until I actually became a mommy and moved to the desert, that I realized that there really wasn't a lot to do. Let's face it, Rialto isn't really a place that promotes the arts. It's even worse if you are financially unstable. Our family became real life couch potatos, and almost every weekend was a movie, and pizza night. When my girls where old enough to start to take out, I was so mad that every time we went out we had to spend so much money, or drive miles away to do something that was mildly entertaining. So I propose to write about the experiences I've had, the places that I LOVE, and the trial and error and reviews of places that I as a mom of two, have found in the Inland Empire.
